I’m David Oleksik, photographer and owner of MJO Moments. My interest in photography began back in high school where I was the photographer for the football and baseball teams. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree, raising a family, and starting several businesses, my love for photography resurfaced when my grandsons became involved in sports. They inspired me to resume my passion, leading me to start my most fulfilling business venture yet.
Since starting this company I have expanded my photography beyond sports, developing a particular interest in Headshot portraits. In doing so, I saw the need for a local studio and have created a fully equipped photo studio here in Carroll County to support myself and other local photographers. Throughout my career I’ve learned that while a good photo reflects how a person looks, a great photo shares a person’s soul. Capturing the essence of who you are and getting to show you the best of yourself is what drives me to become the best at what I do. I am a member of the Headshot Crew, a group of esteemed headshot photographers from around the world, and I am fortunate enough to have been trained by the founder of the crew, a renowned NY-based photographer known to be the industry leader in headshot photography.
I work hard and play hard, enjoying boating, flying, and spending time with my wonderful wife, our two daughters and sons-in-law, and our seven grandchildren. I am very grateful for all the support of my family and friends, without whom I wouldn’t have been able to pursue my passion and live my dream. Capturing those special moments in life is the most rewarding adventure for me. I look forward to capturing yours!
I’m Bess Uhlig, the business manager of MJO Moments. My days are a dynamic blend of managing projects, perfecting images, and ensuring each shoot runs smoothly. With a keen eye for detail and years of experience in sales and customer service, I handle the business side of things—scheduling, client communication, and project management—while also diving into the creative world of photo editing. I thrive on the hustle and bustle of the creative environment, coordinating sessions, and making sure everything is in place for a seamless shoot. The best part of it all is facilitating the opportunity for people to see themselves in a new light.
When I'm not immersed in the world of studio life, you’ll find me reading a good book, enjoying nature, or staying active in the gym. I look forward to getting to know you during our time working together!
